    Where can I find information about Software Download and Activation?

    Products available for electronic delivery

    The Minitab Store offers electronic delivery for Minitab Statistical Software and Minitab Workspace. For details and information about volume licensing options and quantity discounts on orders greater than 20 licenses, please contact Minitab Sales.

    Upon purchasing Quality Trainer, the user will receive a confirmation email with instructions to start using Quality Trainer.

    Benefits of electronic delivery

    The electronic delivery process allows you to submit your order for Minitab software products and then download the software immediately, with no shipping and handling charges.

    Download availability

    Within 30 days of your purchase of Minitab Statistical Software or Minitab Workspace, you are required to download the software.

    During installation, you will be prompted to enter the provided product key. If you do not enter your product key at this time, you will be prompted to enter the product key each time you launch the software during the next 30 days. You must enter the product key to continue use of the software beyond those 30 days.

    Software downloading problems

    If the download of your purchased software was not successful, please contact Minitab Support.

    Antivirus software reports a virus during installation

    Please turn off your antivirus software before installing Minitab products.

    Some of the more popular antivirus software programs now have "heuristic scanning." This method of virus scanning looks for virus-like behavior, and not for specific virus code. When heuristic scanning is turned on, the Minitab software you downloaded may cause an alert message to appear in the antivirus program, because the installation program does some of the things a virus does, such as writing files to your hard drive. You should turn off your antivirus software before installing Minitab software products.

    Lost product key or order reference number

    If you have lost your product key, please contact Minitab Sales. If you have lost your order reference number, please contact Cleverbridge Customer Service.

    Activating your product

    When you purchase Minitab Statistical Software or Minitab Workspace, a product key to activate the software is provided on the confirmation Web page after you have completed your purchase. The product key is also emailed to you as part of the purchase confirmation. Please save this email for future reference. When you install your software, you will be prompted to enter your product key to activate the software.

    When you purchase Quality Trainer, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions for activating your subscription.

    Have you purchased multiple electronic licenses?

    If you have purchased multiple electronic licenses of one product, you only need to download the software once. You can then copy the setup to each computer on which the software will be installed. A unique product key must be used on each computer to activate the product.

    What Payment Options are available?

    The online Minitab Store accepts Visa, MasterCard, and American Express, as well as payment from PayPal and wire transfers.

    The Minitab Store does not accept purchase orders as a form of payment. To purchase products with a purchase order or other payment methods, please contact Minitab Sales.

    Yes, to purchase more than 20 licenses of Minitab Statistical Software, more than 20 licenses of Minitab Workspace, and/or more than 100 subscriptions of Quality Trainer, please contact Minitab Sales.

    How can I access my order history?

    What licensing options are available for multiple users?

    As part of Minitab’s commitment to its customers, Minitab offers various licensing options with flexibility to meet the needs of your organization.

    The most popular licensing option is the Multi-User Annual License. It features concurrent use, meaning that each license can then be shared by multiple people. For each license seat purchased, Minitab allows 3 people to use the software, effectively giving you 3 seats for the price of one! As part of the annual license, customers will receive all software updates, technical support and free upgrades to the newest software. 

    Another popular and highly cost-effective option is Minitab’s Enterprise Annual License. This license enables unlimited use of Minitab across the entire organization, allowing for the maximum return on investment. Just like Multi-User Annual Licenses, annual enterprise license holders receive all software updates, technical support and free upgrades to the newest software. 

    Minitab also offers a Multi-User Perpetual License. This license is more expensive and offers limited time support. It does not include upgrades to the latest software.


    What licensing options are available for single users?

    As part of Minitab’s commitment to its customers, Minitab offers various licensing options with flexibility to meet the needs of individual users.

    Our recommended option for individuals is our Single-User Annual License. It is both cost-effective and offers continuous service and support. Furthermore, it includes the ability to upgrade and update your software as new features and versions are launched.

    Minitab also offers a Single-User Perpetual License. This license is more expensive and offers limited time support. It does not include upgrades to the latest software.


    What does concurrent licensing mean?

    Concurrent licensing is quite unique to Minitab. It allows companies to install Minitab on an unlimited number of computers and effectively allows companies to leverage the seats they purchase. For each license seat purchased, Minitab allows 3 people to use the software, effectively giving you 3 seats for the price of one!

    Each time you open Minitab, a quick look to the server happens to see if there is a seat available, and if there is, Minitab will open. If all of your company’s seats are being used, you’ll receive a note that no seats are available. You can then reach out to your IT department (or your colleagues also using Minitab) to get a seat freed up for your use.


    How can I add or remove users from my Multi-User License?

    Multi-User Licenses are flexible. For example, if you have a training course and need to add those participants to share the concurrent seats for a couple of weeks, it’s very easy to sort this out on your own using the Minitab License Manager.

    You can also mix and match. Say you have one Minitab super-user who wants access to the software at all times: you can use the stand-alone install to grant unlimited access to that one user, and then the rest of your allocated seats are available for concurrent use on the server.


    Does Multi-User Licensing work globally?

    Yes, you have the option to go global with your Multi-User License. If there is one central server that all locations can access, then it’s especially easy for your offices around the world to share your Minitab licenses. In fact, our flexible multi-user concurrent license allows companies to leverage their license globally. For example, your users in the United States can work with Minitab and then when they go home for the evening, your Asian offices can use those same seats of Minitab!

    Also, don’t forget that Minitab is available in several languages (English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish), and it’s easy to switch between languages while using the software.


    Can I travel with a Minitab Multi-User License?

    Yes! We understand that some of your organizations’ Minitab users travel regularly and aren’t always using desktop computers connected to the company network.

    Minitab's solution for you is called borrowing. Borrowing allows you to check out a seat of Minitab from the server before you leave the office. You can then run Minitab off-network.

    The stand-alone type of install also works well in this situation, as you can install one seat of your company’s Multi-User Licenses directly on your computer, which would then just decrease the number of seats your organization has available for concurrent use.

    Is there special Academic Pricing for students and teachers?

    Discounts for students and instructors from educational or academic institutions, and tax-exempt purchases cannot be applied through the Minitab Store. We offer two options for academic customers:
