Minitab, LLC. Sponsors Global Six Sigma & Business Improvement CEO of the Year Award

September 14, 2009

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Minitab, LLC., the leading global provider of software and services for quality improvement, is pleased to congratulate Tom Farrell, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Dominion, who was recently named the winner of the prestigious Six Sigma & Business Improvement CEO of the Year Award.

Minitab sponsored this year’s award, which will be presented at The Global Six Sigma & Business Improvement Gala Awards Dinner on October 14 2009 at The Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resort, Orlando, Florida.

The ceremony is part of the 4th Annual Global Lean Six Sigma & Business Improvement Summit, October 13-16, 2009, an event that brings together senior executives who are passionate about quality improvement. Karen Mueller, Dominion’s director of Six Sigma, will accept the award on Farrell’s behalf at the October ceremony.

Dominion, a longtime user of Minitab products, became the first energy company to launch Six Sigma companywide in January 2001. Since then, all of Dominion's business units have successfully applied Six Sigma methods to reduce costs, improve efficiency and increase revenue.

Farrell was announced as CEO of the Year late last month, at the same time the Global Six Sigma & Business Improvement Awards’ independent judging panel announced the finalists for awards in 12 other categories. Minitab congratulates this year’s 43 finalists, who represent 34 organizations—of whom all but two use Minitab products.
