Douglas Gorman

Douglas Gorman, Technical Training Specialist
Doug has been a trainer with Minitab since 2000. He has over 10 years of experience in the automotive industry and has applied statistical principles in a variety of engineering environments including product design and development, reliability, and manufacturing.
Being an engineer with applied statistics experience allows Doug to communicate with a variety of audiences on appropriate data collection and analysis methods. "Minitab training is not just pointing and clicking, but learning how to analyze data using Minitab. To me, the training is more about understanding how to extract meaningful process information from data."
As a Six Sigma Black Belt for Eaton's Actuator and Sensor Division, Doug worked on process improvement projects with high cost savings potential. In addition to applying statistical tools – such as Gage R&R, Capability Analysis, and DOE – to improve processes in his home plant, Doug trained other Eaton Engineers in Six Sigma methodology and statistical analysis.
Doug also worked for General Motors with the Delphi Harrison Thermal Division, where he designed and analyzed experiments for the Product Engineering group and supported reliability/validation test development
Doug has received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo, a Masters of Science in Engineering Design from Arizona State University, and a Statistical Theory and Methods Certificate from Colorado State University.
