Minitab Helps Indiana Mayor Launch Groundbreaking Six Sigma Program

While Six Sigma has a long track record of success in business and industry, the newest and most exciting application of the methodology is taking place in the public arena. Governments are now beginning to use Six Sigma to improve both their fiscal health and the day-to-day lives of their citizens, and their results are just as impressive.

In Fort Wayne, Indiana, Mayor Graham Richard established an Executive Quality Council and launched a Minitab-driven Six Sigma program. The projects implemented by the council have not only saved the city an estimated $3.5 million dollars, but also improved city services such as decreasing the time it takes to repair potholes and reducing the number of trash pick-ups missed.

Find out more about this innovative program and how Minitab contributed to its success in the case study, A Government for the People: Fort Wayne Improves the Lives of Its Citizens with Minitab (PDF file).
