KeepingTAB #32 (February 2000) announces the arrival of Minitab Release 13 for Windows. Read all about the new features and enhanced capabilities that were designed with our customers' needs in mind.

Minitab is now easier to use and more powerful than ever. Here are some highlights of the new release that are featured in this issue of KeepingTAB:

  • The new Project Manager provides an easy way to keep track of a complex analysis and all the components of Minitab projects. All project elements are organized in a familiar tree-like structure. From the Project Manager, you can rename worksheet columns and add column descriptions; browse through worksheets, graphs, and output; organize related documents and URLs; and more.

  • Using the new ReportPad, you can generate a report from within Minitab.

  • The StatGuide explains how to interpret statistical tables and graphs in a practical, easy-to-understand way. When you open the StatGuide, it automatically displays the information that corresponds to the current output.

  • Several enhancements for Process Capability Analysis, Gage R&R, and Reliability have been included in this new release.

  • Of particular interest to the chemical and process industries is a powerful and complete Mixture Designs capability that has been added to the Design of Experiments (DOE) functions. Release 13 includes features that are normally available only in specialty DOE packages.

  • Optimal designs (D-optimal or distance-based criteria) and Taguchi designs (orthogonal array designs) have also been included in Release 13.
